In the contemporary world, the spread of crises and the formation of conflicts at the global level, the emergence of new actors and sources of power as well as the emergence of new security issues and challenges cause many changes and transformations in the power system and disrupting the balance in it. Among the many topics that can be discussed in the structure of the current international system, economy is an important component in playing an international and regional role. Energy also has a strategic role in the approaches of greats world powers, and it is one of the most important security issues. At the same time, environmental challenges have become a determining factor in international politics along with intensifying competition and tensions between countries. Moreover, global media play an important role in the formation of social and political systems. All these developments have turned the perspective of the global power system into an important issue and a necessity for the current world.

The annual conference of the Iranian World Studies Association is held every year with the aim of bringing together experts in Iran and other parts of the world. After the first international and annual conference of the Iranian World Studies Association on March 5, 2016, and the second in 2017, considering the changes that the world is experiencing in the present era, the third annual conference of this association will be held in February 2023 under the title of " The Outlook of Global Power". Examining various issues as follows will contribute to the main goal of this conference to produce knowledge and develop research literature in these fields:
